In accordance with the Municipal Government Act, the Village of Beiseker will hold a Municipal Election on October 20, 2025 to fill the position of five (5) Councillors.
2025 Municipal Election Important Dates
– Nomination Period: January 1, 2025 – September 22, 2025
– Nomination Day (last opportunity to file nominations): September 22, 2025 at 12pm
– Advanced Voting: Wednesday, April 15, 2025 Village of Beiseker Administration Office 10:00am – 8:00pm
– Election Day: October 20, 2025 Village of Beiseker Administration Office 10:00am – 8:00pm

Alberta’s Municipal Affairs made several changes to the Local Authority Elections Act and the Municipal Government Act in 2024 that significantly impacts candidates, including the rules and requirements surrounding campaign funding. The Village of Beiseker recommends that anyone interested in becoming a candidate review the amended legislation.

The Village of Beiseker recommends that anyone interested in becoming a candidate in the upcoming 2025 Municipal Election read the following information:
POTENTIAL CANDIDATE’S HANDBOOK
NOTICE OF INTENT All candidates must submit a Notice of Intent pursuant to s. 147.22 of the LAEA, and the Village of Beiseker must maintain a register of candidates who have given notice, and make it publicly available on the website.
CANDIDATE FINANCIAL INFORMATION All candidates must complete and submit the Candidate Financial Information form with their nomination papers pursuant to sections 27 and 28 of the LAEA.
NOMINATION PAPER AND CANDIDATE’S ACCEPTANCE All candidates must complete and submit the Nomination Paper and Candidate’s Acceptance form. The nomination period for the 2025 Municipal Election Opens January 1, 2025 and closes at noon on September 22, 2025. During this period, nomination papers can be submitted to the Returning Officer at the Village of Beiseker Administration Office Monday to Thursday between 8:00 – 5:00 pm and Friday 8:00 am – 12:00 Noon.
